For Spring Break this year we actually took a vacation! In years past we have enjoyed being home with no school & did day trips on some of our days off. This year we rented a house in North Charleston. Morganne wanted to do some shopping on historic King St. We enjoyed going in a various shops. We did pop in to Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream shop for a quick snack before heading on to the City Market area.
Mother wasn’t too keen on her Rainbow Buttermilk, but Morganne didn’t let the tartness stop her from finishing it off.
After we enjoyed King St & our ice creams, we were ready to tackle the City Market & end our day at the Joe Riley Waterfront Park & the Pineapple Fountain.
We celebrated the birth of our Lord & Savior by reading Scripture nightly & using our Advent wreath. This year, Morganne & I along with a friend from church, did an Advent Bible Study that walked us through the Bible to Christ’s birth. This really opened my eyes to see God’s promises & how He has worked all through out history to bring redemption & reconciliation for us to Him.
For Christmas Eve & Christmas morning, I made Cherry Sweet Rolls for breakfast. This was a hit & very well be a new tradition for holiday breakfasts.
In all you do, find joy in every day! Life is hard some days. This year, amidst the pandemic of the Corona Virus/COVID-19, I have learned to find the joy in each day. As hard as that is on some days, the little moments are there. This year I am thankful for a healthy family, hope in the darkness, & Jesus who never leaves us.
Chloe had her guinea pigs out for an outdoor photo shoot this afternoon. I was able to get some great pictures of her with each pig. These pigs have been the perfect pet for her. And I must say, we’ve all grown rather attached to them.
On Friday, Oct. 1, Jakim & I took the kayaks out on the NE Cape Fear River. The weather was coolish, but once we got paddling it was great! I love to kayak in the intercoastal & swim, but I enjoyed the river kayak to just be out in nature. This was our second time river kayaking.
I have enjoyed taking pictures of the girls since they were little. And we have many pictures of them sleeping –whether in a car on a trip, in their bed, or on the couch. Even now at their ages, they are super precious & sweet–asleep!
